Ballard & Curren, an umbrella company, was founded in 1948.   Joyce Stevens and McCary Ballard operated the company for many years until their retirement June, 2003.  Leroy and Angela Coffey, owners of Concord Screen Printers, Inc., purchased Ballard & Curren from Mr. Ballard and Joyce and moved all the inventory and records to Concord, North Carolina, near Charlotte.  Concord Screen Printers, Inc. had printed most of the umbrellas for Ballard & Curren for many years.   When we heard Mr. Ballard and Joyce wanted to sell, we knew that we wanted to purchase the company because we liked the quality of umbrellas they sold.  We had printed umbrellas for many companies and saw that Ballard & Curren had the best umbrellas on the market.
